Angry White Person Logic: if multiple polls tell you the opposite of what you want to hear, they are “full of shite and politically manipulated.”
For the record:
A 2013 Quinnipiac poll found that "American Catholics support same-sex marriage 60 - 31 percent, compared to the 56 - 36 percent support among all U.S. adults."
A 2013 Gallup poll found that "If given the opportunity to vote on a law legalizing gay marriage in all 50 states, the slight majority of Americans, 52%, say they would cast their vote in favor"
A 2013 poll by USA Today found that "By an unprecedented 55%-40%, Americans say marriages between same-sex couples should be recognized by law as valid, with the same rights of traditional marriage."
A 2013 poll by ABC and the Washington Post found that 55% of respondents were in favor of marriage equality.
A 2013 poll by CBS found that "53 percent of Americans think it should be legal for same-sex couples to marry"
A 2013 Bloomberg poll found 52% of respondents in favor of gay marriage
I could go on and on and you can look at a long list of similar poll numbers that will tell you the same story: the majority of the country is in favor of marriage equality and the trend for growth is strongly in the pro-marriage equality direction.
Or, you know, you can keep lying to yourself if that makes you more comfortable.
